On the streets of Lisboa
Lives interact
Exchange and move on
Vacant of possibilities of
What we could become
Or what should we become?
How much is free will
How much is puppet strings?
The new normal sucks
But I can’t be negative
We’re all in survival mode
Feeders and trust funds alike
Listening to monotone advice but
The preacher says we are in the last days
Head for the mountains
Soon there will be no escape.
Ask for help and say thank you
Walk your dog, do your sit ups
Drink your coffee
And then the afternoon happens
Take from me, the beauty of Lisbon is
Everyday a baptism
Into a celebration of love
And gratitude.
