Welcome to my city!

Lisbon (/ˈlɪzbən/PortugueseLisboa[liʒˈboɐ] (listen)) is the capital and the largest city of Portugal. About 3 million people live in the Lisbon metropolitan area, which represents approximately 27% of the country’s population.

Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world, and the second-oldest European capital city (after Athens), predating other modern European capitals by centuries.

Lisbon has a Mediterranean climate with mild winters and warm to hot, dry summers. The minimum temperature ever recorded in Lisbon was −1.2 °C (30 °F) in February 1956.

And as of November 2020, Lisbon is my new home!

…and I’m already in love with it!

This transplant from Ohio is ready to take on the most exciting journey and perhaps the scariest adventure of my life! Through the stories, photos and videos in my blog, Life in Lisbon, I hope to document and share my most memorable experiences as well as a slice of my daily routine. I welcome any advice and comments as I navigate my new life in this stunningly beautiful, old world city with it’s fascinating culture!
